Club History
The Petroleum Club of WA was established in 1966 by a group of
Explorers who believed there was a need to set up a facility that
provided the opportunity to networking and information
exchange. The very first official Petroleum Club Dinner
meeting was held on Tuesday 10th January 1967 and was
held at the Ocean Beach Hotel and the cost was $3.00 per
person. How times have changed!
Although the groundwork for the Club's establishment had been
conducted almost exclusively by explorers, it was agreed that the
Club membership should be expanded to include all persons who had
an interest in petroleum exploration and production, rather than be
limited to geoscientists and thus the evolution of an
Organisation.
