A capacity crowd of oil and gas industry professionals donned their fabulous frocks and stylish suits for the highlight of the industry's social calendar – the 2018 Petroleum Industry Gala Ball.
Over 500 people attended the event for a night not just of celebration, but also one of collaboration as for the first time the Petroleum Club of WA co-hosted the event with the Society of Petroleum Engineers WA.
"Collaborating with the Petroleum Club of WA simply made sense. Both industry groups represent a significant number of local petroleum industry personnel," said Mitchell Sherston, SPE WA Chair.
Petroleum Club chair Paul Stone agrees.
"We value the role we play in connecting people within the Energy industry.
"Our core objective is to provide a platform where members can mix both professionally and socially to facilitate long-term associations and business opportunities. Our collaboration with SPE ticked all those boxes and more," said Stone.
The event at the Crown Towers was hosted by TV, newspaper and radio journalist Andrea Burns who shared the stage with a cast of performers and musicians including band Little Belle who played late into the evening.
Also, sharing the spotlight was Alec Dodds of Quadrant Energy, who won the major prize draw of two business class tickets with Qatar Airways.
"Our inaugural petroleum industry ball was a huge success. Never before have I attended an industry social event so well attended," continued Mr Sherston.
"The sheer number of attendees was overwhelming. Dressed to impress, everyone who came made the night one to remember. I genuinely look forward to watching this collaboration grow."
