Peter Fairclough - General Manager of Policy, Government & Public Affairs
The stunning growth of Australia’s LNG industry is a national success story but the industry has never been more challenged. An energy crisis on the east coast resulting in government intervention, the rise of social and anti-fossil fuel activism, rapidly changing local and global dynamics, anti-business sentiment, declining public trust and political inertia are significant risks to the oil and gas sector. Join Chevron Australia’s Peter Fairclough as he explores how the industry is being challenged by non-technical risk and the importance of rebuilding community trust and support.
Peter Fairclough is the General Manager of Policy, Government & Public Affairs for Chevron Australia located in Perth, Western Australia. Peter is responsible for managing non-technical risk for Chevron Australia including political, regulatory, social and reputational.
Peter is an Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association Board Member, Governor of the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia (AMCHAM WA), Chairman of AMCHAM’s energy policy committee, Committee for Economic Development of Australia WA state advisory council member, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Business Policy Forum (WA), the Executive Council of the Chamber of Minerals and Energy (WA) and the Delegates Committee for the Business Council of Australia.
