Business Development Manager
Renee Rugless was recently co-opted onto the Board for Petroleum Club of WA bringing with her over a decade of experience in the oil and gas sector.
Renee moved from NSW to WA in 2004 and began her professional career in Oil and Gas in 2005 working with PCT Engineers Pty Ltd as a young Marketing & Business Development professional.
She previously held positions with GHD, Squire Patton Boggs and AECOM.
Renee has recently joined DECMIL as Business Development Manager. Decmil was established in 1979 to provide construction contracting services to mining and resource clients in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Decmil specialises in design, civil engineering, construction, full cycle project delivery, accommodation services, maintenance, telecommunications and renewable energy particularly in remote regional locations.
When asked why she chose to join the Petroleum Club of WA, Renee spoke of the high level of connectivity and education it provided across the Oil and Gas sector.
“I recall attending my first 'Introduction to the Petroleum Industry' seminar about ten years ago. Not only did I thoroughly enjoy the program, but I also came to learn about the educational programs that PCWA implements for school students, so they have the opportunity to be mentored and develop their career path. I think this is the most rewarding initiative.”
Already showing her strengths, Renee is proactively managing the Annual Gala Ball for the Club - a highlight on the Oil and Gas industry social calendar.
As if Renee isn’t busy enough, she is also a mother of two beautiful and boisterous kids. She is an active person who enjoys running, reading historical fiction, socialising and playing indoor netball. Renee also has quite a competitive streak, which was on full display when she led her team to win the 2017 Santos Charity Quiz.
