Over 200 people battled it out in the 2017 Oil and Gas Industry Charity Quiz Night hosted by the Petroleum Club of WA and Santos on 22nd June.
Just shy of $29,000 was raised during the fun industry get-together, which will go to help fund Homeless Connect Perth, a one-day event based on a one-stop-shop model of immediate service provision to homeless people.
The quiz held at the Duxton Hotel, saw 22 tables fight it out for top honours in a quiz on sport, music, current affairs and the world of Oil and Gas.
The table of misfits - innocuously dubbed PCWA Team One - under the leadership of newly appointed Board Member Renee Rugless took out the Trophy, closely followed by 2016 winners the Santos Mud Loggers, with their counterparts, Santos Team Two rounding out the Top Three.
Funds for Homeless Connect Perth were also raised through a silent auction, which was heated up by special guests Hon. Bill Johnston MLA and Hon. Ben Wyatt MLA who both kindly donated lunch for four at Parliament House. Mines and Petroleum Minister Bill Johnston – who also took out bragging rights in the quiz - pipped Wyatt at the post with an $850 bid by Katrina Bajars and Barb Rebola from Northern Oil and Gas Australia. Milan Saicic of Schlumberger took home a bargain for a corporate box for ten to see Jerry Seinfeld Live graciously donated by Civmec.
Entertainment on the night was provided by musical duo Lachy Reid and Chris Murphy as well as by Club Members who strutted their stuff in the eagerly awaited Air Guitar competition.
Those who couldn’t attend the quiz can still make individual donations to Homeless Connect Perth via their website, and visit the PCWA web page to view photos from the event.
