Position Vacant: Next Generation Program Coordinator
The Petroleum Club of WA is an industry network and educational resource for the Oil & Gas sector in Western Australia. We are a membership based not-for-profit organisation comprising of members from all areas of the industry and associated service providers.
The Next Generation Schools Program is a community initiative facilitated by the Petroleum Club of WA. Its purpose is to introduce the "Next Generation" to the Oil & Gas industry in a fun, interactive and educational environment. We aim to educate students about the oil and gas industry and the important role energy plays in our society, as we provide information on the diversity of career options available.
The Next Generation Schools Program Coordinator is responsible for successful delivery of the Next Generation Schools Program, including the day to day administrative duties and the coordination of program events and initiatives from conception through to completion.
This position develops relationships with schools, individuals and organisations interested in supporting the program’s events and activities. This position will work in coordination with the Business Manager to ensure the program is delivered in a professional manner to meet expectations of participants and stakeholders.
This role requires excellent verbal and written communication, the ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines while exuding a positive attitude.
Program implementation – overseeing the delivery of the Next Generation Schools Program;
Assist the Club Manager and Board of Governors with the development and planning of the program, in alignment with the Club strategy.
Developing networks (strategic partnerships) and opportunities to further develop the program
Recruit and manage program mentors who support the program
Regular communication with schools and stakeholders to manage involvement and expectations.
Assist with the coordination of the Student Expo Day, which includes seeking exhibitors, finalising catering, finalising school participation and logistics
Coordinate stakeholder events (3 per year)
Do you have these skills and experience?
Strong organisational / administrative skills
Strong ability to plan and prioritise; multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously
Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
Exceptional customer service skills, confident phone manner and neat presentation
Be able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a small team, as well as the ability to work autonomously
Microsoft office skills - Advanced Word, Intermediate Excel and Intermediate PowerPoint
Knowledge of Oil & Gas industry (desirable)
Knowledge of school curriculum (desirable)
Experience in social media/marketing (desirable)
Ability to obtain a Working With Children Card
This is a casual position of approximately 20 hours per week. We can offer you flexibility with hours, career progression and a supportive workplace. Immediate start is available.
