Some of WA’s biggest names in the oil and gas community came together for an evening of elegance, fabulous food and wine, and entertainment at the Petroleum Industry Gala Ball last month.
The guestlist for the black tie event, presented by the Petroleum Club of WA and the Society of Petroleum Engineers WA, was a roll call for some of Perth’s most well-known names both inside and outside the oil and gas industry including Honourable Bill Johnston MLA, Minister for Mines and Petroleum; Energy; and Industrial Relations as well as ex-footballer and TV host Adrian Barich who also played the role of MC for the evening.
Starting out with pre-drinks the event officially got underway when the live drummers from Latin Dance Productions opened with a floor show as guests entered the ballroom.
The formalities included a welcome by Club President Paul Stone and SPE WA Chair Steven Smart, as well as a look back at the successful year in Western Australia’s oil and gas industry.
"The Petroleum Club’s core objective is to provide a platform where members can mix both professionally and socially to facilitate long-term associations and business opportunities. Our collaboration with SPE WA for the Petroleum Industry Gala Ball has more than ticked those boxes,” said PCWA President, Paul Stone.
The event stepped up a gear at 9pm when the extremely popular Woodside Energy Dessert Bar opened, and Little Belle - the band for the evening - got the dance floor rocking with a mix everyone’s party classics.
While the dance floor was packed for three hours solid, Alastair Haldane and Casey were the first ones cut up the woodwork.
The Modec Photo booth and the Baker Hughes Lounge Bar were open all night and were both a huge hit.
“BHGE was proud to sponsor another successful and engaging 2019 Petroleum Industry Gala Ball. Events like this are important to attend and support as they celebrate the achievements and progress of our industry.
“The BHGE team in attendance had a fantastic time on the night and thoroughly enjoyed the live band,” said Senior Account Manager – Oilfield Equipment, Baker Hughes, a GE company.
Attendees were blown away by the event saying that the atmosphere was great, the room was buzzing, and the venue allowed people to socialise and network easily.
